About Olympic Flame
Angelo Ligdis’ Olympic Flame began in 1988 and was one of Iowa’s first restaurants in historic East Village in Des Moines, Iowa. The restaurant’s name came from the olympic torch that Angelo himself carried in his hometown, Olympia Greece. After Angelo moved to the U.S. with his brother in ’78, he began sharing the food he loved in Olympia with Des Moines. Angelo’s business started in the Merle Hay neighborhood. Then in 1988, he moved it to East Village.
Olympic Flame Greek Restaurant has proudly served the Des Moines East Village area for 30 years. At Olympic Flame, you are family.
